The A. Proctor Group are constantly reviewing their product portfolio to keep up with current legislation. The A. Proctor Group have re-tested Reflectashield TF 0.81 at the National Physics Laboratory (NPL) resulting in an uplift of the claimed thermal performance to an R-Value of 0.81m2K/W.
The resulting uplift in thermal performance does not affect any of the high performance characteristics afforded by the use of Reflectashield TF 0.81 enjoyed by users and clients.
Reflectashield TF 0.81 complies with the vapour resistance requirements set out by BS 4016, TRADA and the NHBC. The existing legislation requires a breather membrane to have a vapour resistance not greater than 0.60 MNs/g. Reflectashield TF 0.81 has a vapour resistance of 0.44 MNs/g.
Where the fabric is applied on site the fabric should be covered with the primary facade / masonry leaf within 7 weeks. In instances where it is not possible to apply the primary facade within this maximum time, adequate measures should be taken to protect the fabric. When applying fabric to prefabricated panels consideration should be given to exposure of the Reflectashield during storage and transportation, prior to installation of the panel on the building. Panels should be covered and protected prior to installation of the primary facade. The exposed panel should be covered with the primary facade / masonry leaf within 7 weeks. This period may be reduced if this product is not adequately covered and protected during storage and transportation. Consideration should be given to other factors that can accelerate oxidation, such as salt water, which can also reduce the acceptable period of total exposure. It is good practice to keep the total exposure to a minimum Over exposure of this technical membrane could lead to a reduction its reflectance and/or appearance.
