A. Proctor Group has recently supplied their Royale Timber Cladding to a project at Charnwood Primary School in Lichfield.
The main contractors, Thomas Vale Construction installed 368m2 of Royale Timber cladding in Golden colour onto this project.
The project was aimed at co-locating Rocklands School, for pupils with special needs alongside a mainstream primary school. The redevelopment of the former infants block at Charnwood has allowed improved facilities for the Rocklands pupils including additional classrooms, external play areas and car parking facilities.
Staffordshire County Council’s Architects department specified Royale as it offers several advantages over other types of cladding. With the project being a school, the product had to not only look good, but also be easy to maintain. Royale Timber cladding comes in a range of natural looking colours with a standard 30 year warranty against rot/wood decay, thereby giving the specifier the confidence that this product will last.
Royale Timber cladding not only has superior weathering properties, but is also an environmentally sound exterior cladding which comes in various different profiles.
The Osmose treatment that is used for Royale gives the softwood typical properties of hardwood, by increasing the water resistance and stability, thereby enabling them to be used in applications generally more suited to hardwoods.
Royale is one of a range of timber cladding available from the A. Proctor Group. Maibec, another of the range, has a standard 50 year warranty against timber decay, and an 18 year warranty against peeling/blistering of the stained finish. This can be increased by a further 15 years, if re-coated during the original 18 year warranty period. Maibec is a factory stained solid wood and should a specific colour be required, this can be easily colour matched.
