Blairgowrie in Perthshire is home to the A. PROCTOR GROUP LTD. The company’s history stretches back to the 1800’s when flax spinning and textiles were one of Tayside’s major industries. Owning mills originally in Dundee and then Blairgowrie, the PROCTOR family has strong ties in the area.
Diversification into specialist agricultural and construction products began in the 1950’s. Today the Group operates out of The Haugh, which has belonged to the family since the early 1900’s. The current Managing Director, ALLAN PROCTOR, was born and brought up at The Haugh which now acts as a high tech office for the thirty local staff involved in administration and customer services.
A national sales force of over twenty-five operates throughout the UK. Manufacturing and distribution is co-ordinated from 45,000 sq. ft. of warehousing on the Group’s own 4.5 acre industrial estate also in Blairgowrie.
Construction products are supplied through a national chain of stockists and distributors. Whilst the specialist insulation and ventilation agricultural division markets direct to the farming community.
A Head Office based Technical Advice Centre provides same day back-up service to the sales team, distributors, architects, contractors & clients. In-house CAD facilities, Condensation Risk Analysis and Thermal Calculation programmes are examples of the free service provided.
